Overview
Madagascar has been called the land in a forgotten sea. It’s the fourth biggest island on earth and has a number of small peripheral islands off its coastline. With an unparalleled mixture of endemic wildlife and plant species in a variety of habitats from rainforest to reefs, Madagascar truly is one of the greatest biodiversity regions on earth. Human settlement occurred in Madagascar around 1500 years ago with people arriving in canoes from areas around Borneo. A melting pot of cultures, it has a rich history and unique traditions, with warm, welcoming people at its heart. One of the major attractions to Madagascar is the lemur, with over 100 species endemic to regions across the island.
A world of lemurs and chameleons, Madagascar is truly unlike any other place on Earth. Fascinating creatures live amid the extraordinary landscapes, including many highly endemic species. Sprawling reefs and diverse terrain create an underwater haven for impressive marine life. Day 1. Maison Gallieni, Antananarivo

Maison Gallieni is located on the hillside, in the historic district of Antananarivo, offering spectacular views over the city. Built in 1879 as the headquarters of the largest bank based in Madagascar, Maison Gallieni is now the official residence of the Consul of Monaco. There are only four bedrooms, each decorated differently and each with its own charm. They are all air conditioned, equipped with flat screen, safe, tea/coffee facilities, telephone and wireless internet access.
Day 2-3. Mantadia Lodge, Andasibe-Mantadia National Park
- Visit the Old city and upper town of Antananarivo
- Start the journey towards the Eastern part of the island (+/- 4 hours drive)
- Arrive at Mantadia Lodge
Located on a hill of a 100 meters high which gives a panoramic view of the forest. There are 25 rooms, 10 of which are Twins and one of which is a Family Suite for 5 guests. All rooms provide the comfort of a 3 star hotel, and are equipped with Wi-Fi, cable TV and a terrace that offers a panoramic view, an inside living room and a wood burning stove for the cooler season. The restaurant was designed with large windows in order to provide a spectacular view, as well as a 40 square meter terrace for a unique lunch.
Day 4. Maison Gallieni, Antananarivo

- Visit the Analamazaotra special reserve
- Visit Vakona reserve

Day 5-8. Anjajavy Lodge, Anjajavy
- Transfer by a charter plane to Anjavavy
- Arrive at Anjajavy Lodge

Anjajavy Le Lodge is one of Madagascar's luxury lodge located near a remote fishing village on an extraordinary peninsula. Anjajavy le Lodge protects a 960 hectare Private Reserve and manages 10 000 hectare National Protected Area which contains seven types of natural habitats. The Lodge works closely with the local population to maintain, and sometimes restore, the local Malagasy biodiversity and ecosystems as well as the cultural heritage of Anjajavy.
