The luxurious 6 tented Shumba Camp is placed on an island of fig and palm trees amid the Busanga Plains – a seasonal wetland with beautiful landscapes which attract incredible concentrations of wildlife. The camp is often visited by antelope, elephant and lion. Large tented rooms with indoor and outdoor bathrooms are luxuriously appointed and have private sunken decks and cushioned benches- perfect for napping away an afternoon. One larger room can be used as a family unit. The camp is on raised platforms to maximise views and breezes and is well spaced giving privacy. A stunning bar, lounge and dining area open up with folding glass doors to the beautiful landscape and sunrise. The deck features a sunken fire pit with cushioned benches, a lovely pool and sun loungers. You can explore the vast Busanga Plains on safari drives with excellent guides. From May to June a specially adapted swamp boat or dugout canoe ride can be taken and allows access to incredible game viewing and birding. Hot-air-balloon safaris are available between August and October.
