Overview
Lake Manyara National Park
Lake Manyara National Park derived its name from a plant called Euphorbia tirucalli, known as Emanyara in Maasai Language. The Maasai used this plant to cover their bomas (hedge). The Park was gazetted as a National Park in 1960 and was declared as a Biosphere in 1981. The park is perhaps most reknowned for its famous tree-climbing lions. You can see a variety of habitats and diverse animals and birds.
Ngorongoro Crater
The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is situated 180 km west of Arusha in the Crater Highlands area of Tanzania. The conservation area boasts a blend of landscapes, wildlife, people and archaeology. The volcanoes, grasslands, waterfalls and mountain forests are home to an abundance of animals and to the Maasai. Ngorongoro Crater is one of the world's greatest natural spectacles.
Serengeti National Park
The name Serengeti comes from the Maasai word Siringet referring to an endless plain. The National park is known for its massive annual migration of wildebeest and zebra. Seeking new pasture, the herds move north from their breeding grounds in the grassy southern plains.
Zanzibar
Zanzibar is located in the Indian Ocean, occupying a total area of approximately 650 square miles. Its very name evokes romantic associations - smell of spices, images of narrow streets, Arab chests, carved doors and coral reefs. Zanzibar is a tourists paradise, with tranquil, warm tropical waters, many miles of beautiful sandy beaches on the Indian Ocean.
Day 1. Arusha
- Meet and greet at the airport and assistance with all visa / immigration / customs formalities.
- Transfer from Kilimanjaro Airport to Arusha

Day 2. Manyara
- Charter Flight by light aircraft: Arusha - Manyara.
- Depart for Lake Manyara for game viewing with picnic lunch. Apart from its abundant bird life, Lake Manyara National Park is also famous for its tree-climbing lions.
Set in the heart of a mahogany forest, this is the only permanent lodge in the park of the same name. Designed to exert minimal impact on the environment, the lodge is situated in the park's south-western region. Guests are offered an exclusive interpretive safari in a remote, game-rich wilderness. Cradled in the boughs of ancient mahogany trees, ten stilted treehouse suites, crafted from local timber and makuti palm fronds, boast a sophisticated blend of intimacy and romance, offering privacy and exclusivity in cool, leafy surroundings.
Day 3-4. Ngorongoro Crater
- 08:00hrs After breakfast, Depart for Ngorongoro Crater with picnic lunch. You will pass through the town of Karatu before reaching the Ngorongoro Conservation area. The crater is 2000ft. deep, and considered to be the 8th wonder of the world. Ngorongoro Crater is the largest intact caldera in the world with an abundance of wildlife permanently resident on the crater floor.

Ngorongoro Crater Lodge is perched on the edge of the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater at the eastern edge of the Serengeti in northern Tanzania. It lies within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Inspired in design by the Maasai mud-and-stick manyatta (homestead), Ngorongoro Crater Lodge is without doubt one of the most architecturally spectacular safari lodges in Africa. The crater lodge is one-of-a-kind safari lodge with three intimate camps comprise romantic suites perched on the edge of the Ngorongoro Crater - a World Heritage site.
Day 5-6. Serengeti National Park
- Transfer to Manyara airstrip
- Flight by light aircraft: Manyara - Serengeti / Seronera.
- On arrival, meet the camps driver and transfer for lunch Afternoon game drive
- Hot air ballon: This morning, you will be amongst the privileged few who will float majestically over the endless Serengeti plains, in a hot-air balloon. An early morning wake-up call will precede the transfer to the launch site, where the balloon will commence flight at dawn. At the end of your flight, enjoy a bush-breakfast under the shade of an Acacia Tree... a true 'Out of Africa' experience!

Namiri Plainshas been designed and built in complete harmony with the environment, drawing inspiration directly from the surrounding landscape. The guest room walls are built from calcrete, the pale sedimentary rockthat lies just below the grasslands of the eastern and southern Serengeti,created by millions of years of ash deposits from the Ngorongoro volcanoes. Thecalcretenot only lends its lovely grey-and-white colouring to the rooms' aesthetic, but also provides natural temperature control, keeping them cool during the day and warm at night. Each of the ten guest tents features sliding mesh doors leading onto a large private veranda, complete with an al fresco bathtub cleverly screened from view by the stretch canvas roof.
